Music Monday is a meme, created by Drew at The Tattooed Book Geek, where I focus on a song I absolutely love and feel needs to be shared.
Song: “Inevitable and I”
Artist: Harvard
Album: The Inevitable and I (2009)
Lyrics taken from genius.com
If I tell you a lie, then I’ll tell you the truth
I’m gonna travel down with a brilliant moon
Gonna make my way, it’s becoming gray
It wants to be a child anyway
So we travel through the crowd
Shook hands, took a bow
We travel through the crowd
Made our way
We took our hands, went to the beach
Made homes out of cardboard sheets
We saw this love, we had it tough
But I had nothing to do with it
Nothing to do with it
I had nothing to do with it
Nothing to do with it
If I lose this bay, I’ll be the bones
If I lose this bay, I’ll be the bones
If I lose this bay, I’ll be the bones
I’ll never be this bold again
Saw a man, saw what he took
It was a stack of books and a rusty hook
Asked what he’d learned, where he’d been
He said he’d traveled to and from every land
Saw a million things, shook a million hands
But was breaking bread with an old friend
When he saw it in his eyes
Had nothing to do with it
Nothing to do with it
Had nothing to do with it
Nothing to do with it
If I lose this bay, I’ll be the bones
If I lose this bay, I’ll be the bones
If I lose this bay, I’ll be the bones
I’ll never be this bold again
Inevitable and I
Inevitable and I
This is something I have never seen before
Some kind of secret door
There’s a man waiting
He keeps the men waiting
“Inevitable and I”, by defunct band Harvard, is a somber song propelled by finger-picked, acoustic guitar. Gentle brushes on the snare keep the pace while the nylon strings of the guitar pluck in melancholy time. The track soothes the broken-hearted and expresses the sadness of a past relationship (much like “What We Had”). I think this is a fitting song to listen to during the months of winter as it evokes the chilly calm of a moonlit night where introspection is one’s only companion.

LOL I completely forgot it was Monday. It’s 11:55pm right now. I shared 2 songs on my cult page not too long ago… Eskimo Joe “from the sea” and then destiny’s child “say my name” LOL
I recommend the song by Eskimo Joe. Destiny’s child was just to illustrate a point lol
