Australian band Closure in Moscow burst onto the scene in 2009 with their debut album, First Temple. Their music combined prog rock and pop punk to create a unique identity with songs like “Arecibo Message”. The song features singer Christopher de Cinque’s vocals and cryptic lyrics that flow like poetry through his delivery. Closure in Moscow’s musicianship is on show throughout with the fast guitar parts and drum fills before de Cinque returns with catchy  melodies featuring vocal effects and layered harmonies. Though the band would seek something more experimental in their sophomore release, “Arecibo Message” is a good introduction to their first album and what makes them stand out as a band.
